Coat check is free. Coat check is located in the Wieland Lobby and provided free of charge. The High requires visitors to check large backpacks, umbrellas, and other bulky items. The galleries do tend to run cold for the protection of the artwork, so please dress accordingly.

Museums inevitably involve a lot of walking, sometimes for hours, and you’ll need to wear comfortable slip-on shoes like loafers, mules, or fashion sneakers. Don’t go so far as to wear flip-flops, though. They might not be appropriate in such a formal setting. Avoid high heels as well.

Arts Center is on the Red and Gold Lines. There is very limited daily parking. Arts Center has Zip cars as well as local, regional, and shuttle bus connections.
Do you need tickets to see Obama portraits?
All visitors require a ticket. Regular “general admission” and “special exhibition” Museum tickets will not grant visitors access into The Obama Portraits Tour exhibition.
What should you not do in a museum?
Please do not:
- Touch the artwork.
- Bring food or drink into the museum.
- Chew gum.
- Use flash when taking any photos.
- Bring large bags or backpacks into the gallery.
- Run through the halls screaming or play your bagpipes in the galleries. (Soft tenor sax is fine.)
