Is Rose Island worth visiting?
We absolutely loved this excursion at Rose Island. Swimming with the pigs was the highlight of our adventure as there were pigs of all sizes. They were extremely well trained and even performed some tricks which was awesome! The beach itself was beautiful, and the snorkeling was an experience!

Can you swim with pigs on Rose Island?
Unlike the advertisement, there is no swimming with the pigs. They only bring out two at a time and they lure the pigs out into the water by waiving hotdogs that they claim were all beef. The pigs would swim out to get the hotdog and back on the beach to eat some other grub in a bowl.

The Rose Island finally collapsed on 26 February under a strong wind. In the following months the Island was dismantled and eliminated completely. In 2009 some remains of the structure and walls of the island were found on the seabed. An original brick is now preserved by Lorenzo, the son of Giorgio and Gabriella Rosa.
