Sacramento, California will play host to the 2022 USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships for the fifth time since 2001, bringing together thousands of athletes ages 7-18 at Hornet Stadium, on the campus of Sacramento State University.
How many Usatf regions are there?
Masters Track and Field uses a regional system for administration and competition. There are seven Masters Regions in the United States, as indicated on the map below. Each Region contains several Associations.
What ages is youth in track?
The national youth track and field competitions start with children as young as 8. From the age of 6 to around 12 years old you can expect fun games and activities that will build knowledge and skills. Further development continues through the teen age years with the introduction of special training.

USATF has coaches education programs, and better coaches make better athletes. Not faster, but better. Having dealt with both, I would go USATF if you do indeed have a choice. It is a better run organization, and deals exclusively with track, whereas AAU has many sports to contend with.
How do you join a club on Usatf?
Once submitted, a club’s membership application must be approved by their local USATF Association. Once approved, the club membership will become active and eligible for benefits and competition. Clubs must list all coaches, volunteers and club administrators as part of their application.
How do I get my child in track and field?
A great way to begin the sport is to look for kids’ fun runs that are often held in conjunction with local road races. The distance might be as short as a quarter mile and parents can often accompany their child on the course. All-comers meets are also excellent starters.
