It’s important to note that, as Spada Lake is a source of drinking water, some activities are prohibited. Swimming and wading are not allowed in the reservoir or the creeks.

Our facilities at Spada Lake Reservoir, which is part of the Henry M. Jackson Hydroelectric Project, provide access for fishing and boating, hiking and picnicking. Spada is a drinking water reservoir, so there is no swimming or wading (pets or people!) or gas-powered boats allowed. Public restrooms are available.

Where is Spada Lake?
Culmback Dam and Spada Lake are a lovely retreat off Highway 2, just east of Sultan and up the Sultan Basin Road. Spada Lake is a source of drinking water for the City of Everett, so in-water activities are prohibited, but there are hiking trails that circle the lake and nearby just waiting for your exploration.

Is Lake Serene difficult?
Lake Serene is a strenuous, 7.2 mile round trip day hike with 1,920 feet of elevation gain. The trail heads up thickly forested slopes past Bridal Veil Falls to a secluded lake.

Summer activities at Serene Lakes include fishing, windsurfing, sailing, and paddle-boating. Swimming and watersports are only permitted in Lake Dulzura, in order to protect the drinking water derived from Lake Serena.
