If you wanted to use that ASUS router, you would also have to purchase a separate modem, at extra expense. The Asus DSL -AC68U would work, as that is the correct one, but expensive. Will a smarthub work with BT YouView?
They both work will all BT services, including BT YouView. so do i have to put the smarthub into modem mode to be able to use a seperate router? also i found this router will it be compatible?

It should be fine. Most TP Link routers are plug and play. Just to say that the mentioned Asus DSL-AC68U modem/router is very compatible with BT TV as well as offering very strong wifi. Another advantage could be it’s ability to transmit BT’s internet channels over wifi if physical connection to a Youview box is difficult.
