Due to safety reasons, pregnant women are unable to ride the Skyride or Luge.

Can you do Queenstown Luge without Gondola?

No. The Luge tracks will not take you down to the Gondola base. You will complete all Luge rides at the end of the Luge track which is at the Skyline complex. Once all Luge rides and other activities are completed, you can then take the Gondola back down to the base.

Does body weight affect the luge?

Size Since luge is a gravity based sport, in general, it’s beneficial to be somewhat taller and heavier. The extra weight helps propel the sled as it accelerates downhill; but having said that, the extra weight needs to be lean, muscle weight as opposed to adipose tissue (fat weight).

Our Luge and Skyride operate as normal in a slight drizzle and will only stop in the event that heavy rain would impact your safety. Guests who are unable to finish their rides due to park closure can revalidate their tickets here for another day, within 1 month from date of visit.

Do not put your feet outside of the Luge cart, unless completely stopped, as injury may result. Footwear must be worn at all times. Use the brakes to slow or stop the cart!
