When was Climate Week?
How, when and where will my Climate Week NYC Event be hosted? Climate Week NYC 2022 is taking place in New York City between September 19-25. Organizations are responsible for finding a venue and organizing their own events. All events must take place within New York City or online.
What is un Climate Week?
The regional climate week brings together stakeholders from different sectors of society for solution-oriented dialogues and to foster meaningful partnerships for climate action, including on the resilience against climate risks and the transition to a low-emission economy. Through celebrating climate action, challenging ourselves to do more, and exploring ways to increase ambition, Climate Week NYC inspires, amplifies and provides a global platform for connection and discussion.

The deadline to submit application for admission as observers for COP 27 review cycle was 31 August 2021 midnight CEST. The deadline to submit application for admission as observers in time for the COP 28 review cycle is 31 August 2022 midnight CEST.
What is a climate event?
Weather-related extreme events are often short-lived and include heat waves, freezes, heavy downpours, tornadoes, tropical cyclones and floods. Climate-related extreme events either persist longer than weather events or emerge from the accumulation of weather or climate events that persist over a longer period of time.
Is New York ready for climate change?
Climate Risk and Resiliency Act – By the 2050s, sea level is expected to be as much as 30 inches (2.5 feet) higher in New York’s coastal area. By 2100, New York’s coast could see up to 6 feet of sea-level rise. New York is very vulnerable to the impacts of sea-level rise, including storm surge and coastal flooding.
How do you get invited to COP27?

- Must be current and active students at U-M during Fall 2022 and Winter 2023.
- Both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to apply.
- Must complete the application form.
- Must enroll in a required one-credit course for Fall 2022.
Why is NY sinking?
