Is Sesap good for Absite?
Resource #3 – SESAP Questions These questions in the SESAP 16 review book are definitely the best resource out there for ABS Board Preparation. The questions are a little more detailed than the question in the SCORE question bank and seem to be geared for the senior residents and recertifying surgeons.
Do prelims take Absite?
You will be required to take the written American Board of Surgery In-training Examination (ABSITE) during your preliminary year. Your status in the program will not be determined solely by your ABSITE results; however, a score greater than the 50th percentile is required.
What happens if you fail Absite?
This is the most at-risk group of test-takers. Failure to perform on the ABSITE is predictive of an increased likelihood of failure of the written boards, hence the importance of results to both residency and fellowship programs.
What is considered a good Absite score?
Results: One hundred forty-eight surveys were completed, with 74.8% of the programs ranking the importance of ABSITE scores as 3 or 4 (on a scale of 1 through 5). Most programs (78.9%) reported no minimum percentile requirement. Those that did required a mean percentile of 54.4.
