The principal museum building opened in 1993. Construction of the Roji-en gardens began in 1993. The Morikami Park, which includes the museum, is 188.5 acres (76.3 ha). There is one picnic pavilion and six smaller picnic shelters and a playground.

Can I bring my own food and beverages? We do not allow any outside food or coolers on the festival grounds. However, we have plenty of food and beverage vendors on festival grounds.
