What is Ortho-Ortho EDDHA?

What is Ortho-Ortho EDDHA?

EDDHA is the most effective chelating agent for alkaline soils that keeps iron active for a long time. The ortho-ortho spatial shape of the Fe-EDDHA molecule strongly protects the iron ions from oxidation and guarantees the amount of plant uptake.

How does EDTA chelate iron?

EDTA-iron chelate has also been shown to catalyze enzymatic reactions such as hydroxylation (5) and demethylation (6) as mixed function oxidases. EDTA, a diamine, is a strong chelator of iron (stability constant of ferric iron-EDTA is 25.0). Iron and EDTA alone did not show any absorption in the ultraviolet range.

How often can you spray chelated iron?

Unlike soil applications which are required only once in the spring, spraying iron on the leaves requires multiple applications for most trees and shrubs. Applications to the leaves may be required four or five times, a few days apart, to get a decent green color again.

What is soy green?

Exclusively distributed by CHS Agronomy, Soygreen is an iron (Fe) formula developed for soybeans and other crops suffering from iron deficiency chlorosis. It has the purest and highest concentration of ortho-ortho EDDHA chelate compared to other premium micronutrient products.

What is chelated agriculture?

Chelates prevent loss of nutrients through leaching, or wash out. Chelation increases the mobility of nutrients in soil. This increased mobility enhances the uptake of nutrients by plants. Chelating agents reduce the growth of plant pathogens by reducing available iron.

How often should you use chelated iron on plants?

Liquid Iron is chelated iron with copper, manganese and zinc. For potted plants, apply 1/2 teaspoon per quart of water. Repeat monthly. Aids in the production of vigorous dark green plant growth and corrects micro-nutrient deficiencies.

What is the difference between soy and soybean?

Soy foods are made from soybeans. The soybean is a legume, named so because it grows in pods containing seeds (or “beans” as we call them).

Is iron chelate safe?

Unlike many iron preparations, Iron Chelate is also well tolerated, gentle on the stomach, and non-constipating. Safe for use in adults, teenagers, and pregnant and lactating women when there is a demonstrated requirement for iron supplementation. Iron Chelate supplies 30 mg of elemental iron per capsule.

Can too much iron hurt plants?

However, too much iron can have a toxic effect on the plant, weakening and eventually killing it. It should be noted that plants only absorb ferrous iron particles from the soil, and that other types of iron particles will not affect plants.

What is a natural iron chelator?

In current medicine, iron chelators include natural compounds derived from microorganisms such as siderophores and synthetic iron chelators were clinically used for the treatment of iron overloaded conditions.

What are the iron chelating agent?

Deferoxamine, Deferiprone and Deferasirox are the most important specific US FDA-approved iron chelators.
