What age do Air Cadets start?
You can join when you’re between 13, or 12 if you’re already in year 8 at school, and usually leave when you’re 20. The latest age you can joing is before your 17th birthday.
Can you join the cadets at 13?
Not every police force has Junior Volunteer Police Cadets; however, a growing number now offer 11 – 13 year olds the opportunity to join the Junior Volunteer Police Cadets (JVPC). The JVPC are usually based at a school venue suitable for young people to attend.
Can Air Cadets have dyed hair?
All Cadets must keep their hair neat. It may be dyed, but must be a natural hair colour.
Does Air Cadets cost money?
Select cadets may participate in summer courses at training centres across Canada. Air Cadets are under no obligation to join the Canadian Forces. There is no set cost to join. Certain provinces may require registration fees, while others may not.
Are you allowed to wear makeup in cadets?
Make-up, jewelry, tattoos and body piercings This precludes the use of false eyelashes, heavy eyeliner, brightly coloured eye shadow or lipstick, coloured nail polish, and excessive facial make-up. Male cadets are not authorized to wear make-up.
Can you keep your cadet uniform?
During your time as a cadet, you will be issued a uniform. It is loaned to you and belongs to the Department of National Defense, and following your time with the Squadron, you must return your uniform. As such, you are expected to take good care of your uniform and take pride when wearing it.
Can you have long hair in air cadets?
Hair shall not extend below the lower edge of the shirt collar. Hair must be secured or styled back to reveal the face.
Can air cadets wear earrings?
Only a single earring or healing device, worn in the centre of each earlobe, may be worn at a time. Male cadets are not authorized to wear an earring or earrings.
What Colour boots do Air Cadets wear?
Footwear. Cadets are not issued with shoes so private purchase is necessary. They must be black, laced and with a toecap.
