What age do Air Cadets start?

You can join when you’re between 13, or 12 if you’re already in year 8 at school, and usually leave when you’re 20. The latest age you can joing is before your 17th birthday.

Can you join the cadets at 13?

Not every police force has Junior Volunteer Police Cadets; however, a growing number now offer 11 – 13 year olds the opportunity to join the Junior Volunteer Police Cadets (JVPC). The JVPC are usually based at a school venue suitable for young people to attend.

All Cadets must keep their hair neat. It may be dyed, but must be a natural hair colour.

Does Air Cadets cost money?

Select cadets may participate in summer courses at training centres across Canada. Air Cadets are under no obligation to join the Canadian Forces. There is no set cost to join. Certain provinces may require registration fees, while others may not.
