What is a Minsup fitting?

What is a Minsup fitting?

Minsup claw couplings are a universal hose coupling that provide quick, safe and reliable connections. Claw couplings are designed with a common or universal claw which enables differing hose sizes and nominal bore sizes to be connected.

How do claw couplings work?

Claw couplings are broadly used for air and water in industry and construction. Both halves of the coupling are exactly the same – no distinction between a coupler and an adapter. They have two lugs (claws) each, which engage in the corresponding notches of the opposite half.

What is a pneumatic coupling?

Pneumatic quick couplers (also referred to as air couplers, or pneumatic quick disconnects), are primarily used for pneumatic applications, connecting air tools, hoses, or other implements to compressed air supplies.

Can I use pneumatic fittings for water?

Push-in fittings are used in all types of compressed air systems, but are most commonly used in applications having pneumatic cylinders, tools, and equipment. They can be used for water applications, but extra measures have to be taken (controlled surge pressure, water compatibility, insert ring, etc.)

How many types of air couplers are there?

two main
There are two main types of air compressor couplers : Automotive and Industrial. The chart below shows how to identify which connector style you have. As you can see, Industrial style couplers have two striped going across the fitting, whereas the automotive style only has one.

How do I choose a pneumatic fitting?

The sizing of a pneumatic fitting is defined by the size of vessels it connects to. Tubes, hoses, and pipes are sized based on inside diameter (ID) and outside diameter (OD), measured in inches (in) or millimeters (mm). A fitting designed to connect to a tube with a 2″ OD is rated as a 2″ OD fitting.

What are the disadvantages of coupling?

The main disadvantage of a rigid coupling is that it cannot tolerate any misalignment in the axes of the shafts. It is difficult to assemble or dismantle as the sleeve has to be shifted over a shaft or shaft ends. It is not able to absorb shocks or vibrations during power delivery.

What is HRC coupling?

HRC couplings consist of 2 cast-iron halves attached to shafts by means of either hub mount (H Flange) or face mount (F Flange) taper bushes. Between these two halves is a rubber “spider” that serves as a shock absorber. HRC Couplings allow for a limited parallel misalignment (0.5mm) and axial misalignment (1.5mm).

How do you measure an air coupler?

To find the correct fitting size, measure the outer diameter of the threads.

  1. For a male thread, measure the outer diameter (OD) of the thread.
  2. For a female thread, measure the top diameter of the opening (OD).
