Is telephone cable the same as CAT5?
CAT5 is thicker and contains more wires, and also has a larger connecter than phone cord; CAT is called RJ-45 and phone RJ-11. CAT5 refers to the cable, RJ45/RJ11 refer to the connectors. It can’t hurt. Cat5 has more twists per inch than regular phone cable and therefore cancels out noise better.
Is RJ11 and RJ12 the same size?
