What is choice based letting scheme?
Choice Based Letting is a way that you can express your interest in renting a suitable council property in your preferred area. A ‘suitable’ property is one that you have chosen to express interest in and that matches your housing needs.
Do I have to pay for HomeSwapper?
There is a charge for using the HomeSwapper service which you must pay yourself. Once you have been approved for exchange, your details will be included on the mutual exchange register and you may be contacted by interested parties or you may contact suitable exchange partners.
How long does choice based lettings take?
This procedure comprises of an interview and a Garda Check and Estate Management clearance as well as the provision of updates to your housing file. The estimated time for this process is 5 weeks.
Is choice based letting a council house?
The Choice Based Letting (CBL) Scheme will operate as follows: CBL is a method used for allocating Council properties, offering involvement for housing / transfer applicants in selecting their new home.
Whats the difference between a council house and a housing association house?

After registering, you will then be prompted to complete an application form for social housing.
