The city, designed by the late Italian architect Paolo Soleri, is called Arcosanti. Arcosanti rests on an arid rise among Sonoran scrub and needled trees. Its ribbed vaults, round shapes, and sweeping curves look lifted from fantasy or sci-fi. Many structures point south for light and heat purposes.
Where are Soleri bells made?
Soleri wind bells have been a “Made In Arizona” original since the 1950s. The wind bells (not wind chimes) are made at studios founded by Paolo Soleri in Paradise Valley. The late Soleri is, of course, the founder of Arcosanti, a futuristic development near Prescott.

These structures have been largely hypothetical, as no arcology, even one envisioned by Soleri himself, has yet been built. The concept has been popularized by various science fiction writers.
