Park permits: $35 annual, $26 second vehicle, $12 handicapped, or $7 daily. Camping fees are separate. Book an online reservation 24 hours a day.
Does Gooseberry Falls campground have electricity?
The nicely wooded sites have no electricity, but are large enough to accommodate either tents or RVs. There are two modern shower buildings, and campers can enjoy interpretive programs at nearby Lady Slipper Lodge, biking on the Gitchi-Gami State Trail or hiking along the scenic shoreline.

How much does a trip here cost? If you’re a local or able to camp on a weekday, a great campsite is only $11. This includes pull up parking, a fire pit, a picnic table, free Wifi & access to nearby clean, indoor showers and bathrooms. You can upgrade to electric sites or RV sites etc for an additional fee.

Can you swim in Itasca State Park?
A popular place to enjoy a cool, refreshing dip in the lake on a hot day. The swimming beach at Lake Itasca is sandy and scenic, with a playground, picnic shelter and volleyball net near by. Visit the boat dock near the beach on Lake Itasca and enjoy some time on the water!
Can you get in the water at Natural Falls?
No swimming at Natural Falls. There are signs in most tempting places that explain that the Falls are a delicate ecosystem and should not be used for swimming. We did not see any UTV trails. Only hiking trails.
Can you swim in Natural Falls State Park?
Although swimming is not allowed in the park, there are several public swimming areas available within a short distance of the park. Observe a variety of plant and animal life throughout the park. The waterfall creates a moist environment where ferns, mosses and liverworts thrive.
Can you run a generator in a Minnesota state park?
Noise and Quiet Hours Current rules prohibit the use of power generators and any noise above “quiet conversation” from 10 PM to 8 AM in state parks/recreation areas. Current rules do not address generator operation in forests or state trails.

How long of a hike is Gooseberry Falls?
f you want to hike from the falls to the lake plan about 30- 40 minutes each way. Places to stop, benches along the way! VERY beautiful. Shorter hikes from the center to the falls 5 minutes.
