Does Shark steam mop need distilled water?
To prolong the life of your Shark® Pro Steam Pocket® Mop, we recommend using distilled water. Make sure you only add water to the tank. Chemicals or cleaning solution may damage the appliance and could be unsafe for you and your family. IMPORTANT: Your Steam Mop needs water to make steam!
Can I use distilled water in a steam mop?
Filtered water can be used in a steam mop and distilled water is best. However, if the water has high mineral content it can damage the steam mop and reduce its efficiency. This also applies to tap water, bottled water, hard water or well water.

Do you have to use distilled water in steam cleaner?

Can I use filtered water in my shark steam mop?
We recommend using distilled water and/or filtered water to extend the life of your steam mop. Calcification and mineral deposits can build up and impact the performance of your steam mop over time.
Can you put all purpose cleaner in a steam mop?
Only use an additive recommended by your steam mop’s manufacturer when cleaning your floors. If your steam mop’s user manual says nothing other than water should be poured into the tank, you run the risk of irrevocably damaging its system if you attempt to add any kind of scent or additional cleaning fluid.
