Are Ultegra and Dura Ace shifters compatible?
Note 5 – All Shifters work with all 10-speed and/or 11-speed Rear Derailleurs: All of the shifters are compatible with either the 10-speed Ultegra 6770 or 11-speed Ultegra 6870/Dura-Ace 9070 systems as long as they all have the latest firmware.
Will any derailleur work with any shifter?
No, different maker or different model with different number of “speed” shifters have different pull ratio (i.e. the length of cable pulled by a single shift). Usually it’s safe to use different model with same number of gears from the same maker.
Is Di2 backwards compatible?

You can change synchronized shifting mode while on the bike easily. Just double-press the button on your junction box and you will change to the next shift mode.

Can you mix and match groupsets?
Indeed, it is now possible to mix and match 11-speed chains and cassettes from all three manufacturers with satisfactory results in most instances. Fussy riders and mechanics may notice a difference in the shift quality and/or some extra noise, however both are relatively subtle.
Is Ultegra Di2 compatible with GRX?
Compatibility of GRX with ULTEGRA for road bikes Shimano’s GRX for gravel bikes and ULTEGRA for road bikes are compatible with ULTEGRA 6700 and above, and ULTEGRA is the only component that is compatible with all GRX models, including GRX electric shifting models, because ULTEGRA has Di2 models.
