Submental lymph nodes are small lymph nodes found below the chin in the submental triangle of the neck, lying between the two anterior bellies of the digastric muscle. They belong to the submental group of lymph nodes of the head, and include the anterior, middle and posterior submental lymph nodes.

Why would submental lymph nodes be swollen?

Swollen submandibular nodes usually indicate an active viral or bacterial infection and are commonly associated with infections of the sinuses, eyes, and ears.
