How do you apply estriol vaginal cream?
Lie on your back, part and bend your knees. Insert the applicator into the vagina and push the plunger to expel the cream into the vagina. Wash the applicator with warm soapy water and rinse well. Use exactly as directed for the complete length of time prescribed.
When should you use estrogen cream?
Generally you will use the cream daily for several weeks and then decrease use to 3 times a week. It is best to use at bedtime so that there is less leakage of the cream. The packaging will have specific instructions for applying the cream and pictures to help you locate the vagina.
Is estriol safe to use?
No head-to-head trials have been conducted with estriol and estradiol. Some studies have shown that estriol is safe and effective for symptoms of menopause. When applied topically for vaginal atrophy, estriol has been reported to be effective with other drugs.

Once you’ve applied, avoid swimming, bathing or taking a shower for at least forty minutes, as this can wash away the hormone cream and interrupt absorption.

What is the difference between estriol and estradiol cream?
No. Estriol and estradiol are not the same. Estriol is a weaker form of estrogen that may only be found in compounded hormone therapy products. Estradiol is more potent than estriol and is FDA approved for hormone replacement therapy.
