How does ARML relay work?
A relay, where the team is broken into five groups of three. Within each group, the first team member solves a problem and passes the solution to the next team member, who plugs that answer into their question, and so on.
Are you allowed a calculator in ARML?
Calculators will not be allowed on any part of the ARML contest.

How do you participate in ARML?
Team selection is based on all of the following criteria:
- Attendence at practice sessions.
- Performance on problems at practice sessions.
- Performance at ARML itself in previous years.
- Performance on AMC and AIME, including current and previous years.
- Performance at CSULB Math Day at the Beach, a contest held in March.

ARML (American Regions Math League) is the premier national competition for math teams, and is the largest, most prestigious, and probably most fun on-site math competition in the United States.

Is ARML an international competition?
Since it is very expensive for international teams to attend, ARML decided to have a competition via the Internet so that international teams could take the contest in their own country.

What grade is ARML?
Students have to be in 12th grade or lower to participate, and they cannot have graduated high school in the prior academic year. Students have to be selected from very defined geographic areas, and different teams’ areas cannot overlap.
How long is ARML team round?
20-minute
Seniors who graduate in the current school year are eligible to compete. The ARML competition is comprised of four parts. First is a 20-minute Team Round consisting of 10 questions which the entire 15-member team works on together.

International Regions Mathematics League (IRML) IRML stands for the International Regions Mathematics League. It is an extension of ARML which stands for the American Regions Mathematics League.
