Where should you place your sub?

A subwoofer placed in the corner of a room may increase the subwoofer’s output – causing the sub to sound louder. Try placing your subwoofer in a corner and see how it sounds. However, depending on your floor space, a corner might not be a viable option for your subwoofer if it’s too far from your listening area.

Which way should I face my sub?

Most bass enthusiasts face their subwoofers to the back, pointing at the back of the cab in a truck or the tailgate in an SUV for a heavy bass sound and feel. Other configurations are also possible but will affect the sensation and sound of the bass.

Does direction of subwoofer matter?

There’s no right or wrong placement since subwoofers are highly flexible, and you should look for a spot that fills the room with bass without letting you localize the bass source. Check the distance. The distance between the wall and the subwoofer is ideally the same as the dimensions of the subwoofer.

Can I put the subwoofer in the back?

You can place a subwoofer behind you or in the back of the room but this is likely not going to be the most optimal location. Ideally, the subwoofer should be placed at the front of the room pulled at least 6-inches away from the wall for the best low-frequency audio signal performance.
