Can you take off lock laces?
Press down, toward the tongue of the shoe, with the head of the screwdriver to open the Cord Clip. To reinstall the Cord Clip, simply slide the clip back onto the lace ends and align the ends of the laces with the teeth inside the cord clip. Then, snap the Cord Clip together to secure.
How tight should lock laces be?
We recommend 2-3 inches below the lock for tennis shoes and 4-6 inches for boots. See our complete installation instructions here. I installed my Lock Laces® too tight.

Why won’t the clips on the laces stay closed?
After trimming the laces to length, the clip meant to terminate the end of the laces would not close. The thickness of the laces prevents the clip from close completely and securely. Tried using pliers and even a bench vise, the clips would not stay completely closed.
