But it’s not uncommon to lose 1 to 3 pounds of weight 1 to 2 days before going into labor. This isn’t fat loss, though. Instead it’s your body shedding excess water weight. It can happen due to less amniotic fluid toward the end of your pregnancy, and increased urination as your “baby drops” in preparation for labor.
Is it normal for early labor to start and stop?
The latent phase can last several days or weeks before active labour starts. Some women can feel backache or cramps during this phase. Some women have bouts of contractions lasting a few hours, which then stop and start up again the next day. This is normal.

After everything is dry, I have them sit on a fresh towel for a half hour. If their water has broken, the fluid will usually continue come out getting the new towel at least a little wet. If the towel is completely dry for 30 minutes, then it’s more likely that the leaking was urine or discharge.
