When was Abingdon School built?
Abingdon is one of the oldest schools in England. There is no surviving date for its foundation but the School grew up alongside Abingdon Abbey, which was first founded in 675 and re-founded in 975.

Not particularly hard to get into based on cohort from our prep for 2020 y9 start. A fair few were on wait lists to begin with but I think nearly all those got in eventually. Lots of people hold a boarding and a day place, with Abingdon being the day place and the lists seem to move right up to about May/June.

How hard is it to get into Radley?
Radley accepts registration as early as 4 to 5 years in advance. The majority of boys, roughly 140, join the school in September before their 14th birthday. Those over 14 will only be admitted in exceptional circumstances. A Common Entrance Exam in Maths and English will be given, with the pass mark being 60%.
