How to activate the Samenreiskorting in the NS app:
- Open the NS app.
- Click on ‘More’, then ‘Mijn NS´.
- Log in to Mijn NS.
- Select the OV-chipkaart you will be using to travel.
- Scroll down to Samenreiskorting and select ‘Activate’.
- Click on ‘Confirm´
How does joint journey discount work?
The Joint Journey Discount is only valid in the same class and on the same route as the person with the NS season ticket. The ticket is only valid during off-peak hours: on weekdays until 6.30 am, between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm and after 6.30 pm. The ticket is valid throughout the day on weekends and public holidays.
Can I use someone else’s OV Chipkaart?
A personal OV-chipkaart is linked to a specific person. You may not use another person’s personal OV-chipkaart. If caught travelling on a personal OV-chipkaart that does not belong to you, you risk a fine.
