What is a dual set Aquastat?
The HONEYWELL dual Aquastat® controller provides boiler water regulation in gas- or oil-fired hydronic heating systems. The immersion-type, liquid-filled sensing element actuates 2 snap switches. What do Aquastats do?
The aquastat is a device that controls the temperature of the water inside the boiler – much as a thermostat does for the air inside the house.
Are Aquastats interchangeable?
To simplify aquastat replacement across a very wide range of boilers, manufacturers like Honeywell make a “universal”replacement unit. If you choose a universal type aquastat to put on your heating boiler then you’re pretty safe that the device can be made to work correctly for your needs.
What temperature should I set my aquastat?
Recommended High-Limit Setting In most cases, the high-limit temperature setting on an aquastat should be between 180 and 200 degrees Fahrenheit. If the aquastat is set at 200 degrees Fahrenheit as the high-limit setting and the pressure valve begins to leak, set the temperature back to 195 degrees Fahrenheit.
Do you have to drain boiler to change Aquastat?
Yes, you WILL have to drain the boiler to change the pump.
What does an Aquastat do on a boiler?
What does the aquastat relay do?
The purpose of the aquastat relay is to provide a place for most of the controls in a boiler system to be wired together. Take the cover off and you’ll see pairs of screws that are labeled, for example, T-T, C1-C2, B1-B2 and L1-L2. These are called terminal screws. The label tells you what to wire in there.
What is the purpose of aquastat?
How does an aquastat work in a hot water boiler?
The aquastat monitors the water temperature in the boiler through the use of a copper bulb that stays in contact with the water inside the boiler and that shuts down the boiler automatically if the low- or high-temperature set point is exceeded.
