Are springs or coilovers better?
Lowering springs are a cheaper and easier way to lower your car’s center of gravity and improve its handling. Coilovers, on the other hand, can lower the car and make it handle much better with more adjustability.
Why are coilovers better than lowering springs?
While lowering springs rely on spring rate and height to alter your ride height, coilovers use the spring seat’s location on the shock to raise or lower your vehicle. That means you could swap in a heavier or lighter spring and easily get back to your desired ride height.
Are coilovers a bumpy ride?
I have an FRS if that matters and bought these coilovers. My car became super bumpy in the rear. When I go over slight humps or cracks/unleveled roads, my body jumps up and down.
Why is my car so bouncy after coilovers?
It WILL bounce if you shocks are set too stiff. The dampers fight with the spring and it will just feel terrible on bumpy roads at high speeds.
Are coilovers better than shocks with lowering springs?
Chances are you’ll have a better experience with a high quality set of lowering springs than the cheapest set of coilovers you can find. But if you’re willing to spend a few extra bucks, coilovers can provide a much better outcome. One of the biggest difference between coilovers and shocks with lowering springs is adjustability.
How do coilovers adjust ride height and spring rate?
Most coilovers include a way to make minor adjustments to the spring rate, and many coilovers use a system that allows ride height and spring rate to be adjusted independently of each other. Many coilovers also feature adjustable dampers which you can adjust via a rotating knob on the top of the coilover.
What is a fully adjustable coilover kit?
As noted on our website, “The Ksport Kontrol Pro Fully Adjustable Coilover Kits provide the ultimate in suspension technology for your vehicle, both on the street or at the track. 36 levels of damping adjustment allow fine tuning of the damper to suit both handling and comfort needs.
Do coilovers cause harsh ride quality?
A common misconception is that with coilovers you automatically sacrifice ride quality for performance, thus creating a harsh ride quality. This simply isn’t true. Coilovers like our Kontrol Pro kit are for street comfort. We can do this through valving and damping that has been built into the coilover itself.
