What size are Bellcast beads?
Bellcast bead is great for two-coat renders, as it’s available in 11mm. Once embedded into the first pass of the two-coat render, the bead will help to create a nice sharp edge at the bottom of the wall.
What beads to use for render?
Angle beads, also known as corner beads or quoin beads, are used on corners and returns of external rendered elevations and apertures. Angle beads reinforce the render system at the corners and returns, helping to reduce impact damage and keeping the render edges sharp.
What thickness should K Rend be?
K REND LW1 The material should be applied 14mm thick, in 2 passes; the first pass approx. 6mm with K Rend Alkali Resistant Reinforcing Mesh embedded into the first pass whilst it is still soft. The second pass of approx. 8 mm is then applied.

Does K render need a base coat?
K Rend Base Coats are used in various applications within the building industry and typically applied to complement our render prior to the finish coat. Base coats are used to prepare the surface of the substrate before the application of render, if not applied a ‘ghosting’ affect can occur to the finished look.
Does K Rend need mesh?
If you are using a spray machine, then follow the correct machine settings according to bags. The first pass of the K1 Silicone render should be 8mm thick. In this layer you will need to cut up the alkali resistant fibreglass mesh and install it into the product.
How do you fit Bellcast beads?
Fix bellcast beads onto a continuous line of render dabs, or better still, onto adhesive mortar to prevent slipping. Alternatively nail clouts or hammer-in plug fixings can be used along the length of the bellcast bead every 300-700mm. The beads are rigid enough for one person to fix alone.
Does K Rend need a scratch coat?
1) K-rend is thin With K-rend, you only apply one layer that is sprayed on. In other words, K-rend is only the topcoat. And, without the scratch coat underneath, the topcoat can be so thin that you can see the stonework underneath.
How big should the bead size be on render?
The bead size depends on the render system. With carrier boards there is often a base / mesh coat of about 5mm and top coat 5-8mm. I hope it is not through coloured. I don’t really like the bell cast drip at the bottom. I prefer it flush. I’m only supplying them, they’re going to fit them. Every Pound counts, as the budget is tight.
