Our main lake is man made, a maximum depth of 7ft and a sandy bottom with no weeds. Being comparatively shallow to other lakes it also gets very warm with our thermometers reading a top temperature of 28 degrees at the height of summer, perfect for open water swimming beginners and enthusiasts.

Allerthorpe Lakeland Park is set in 53 acres of grounds and lakes. It’s perfect for dogs. Most people congregate around the main lake where there are water sports, but there are other lakes where the dogs can go off the lead.

Do you have to pay to see Hardraw force?
Unfortunately Hardraw Force is located on private land and a small fee is payable to visit the waterfall which at the time of writing is £2.50 per person. Access used to be through the Green Dragon Inn but now it is through a visitor centre to the rear of the pub.

Here at Allerthorpe we have 2 separate areas for touring pitches for short stays as well as seasonal pitches if you prefer to be here all year round. The touring pitches do get booked up especially at the weekends and on bank holidays, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
