Can you pour boiling water into a Kilner jar?
Important: Do not attempt to sterilise your Kilner® Bottles and Kilner® Jars by pouring boiling water into them. Always take care when sterilising and handling hot jars and lids. Please use the appropriate equipment such as Kilner® Jam Jar Tongs or oven gloves.
Can I put Kilner jars in the oven?
Please note, to sterilise Kilner jars with rubber seals then it’s best to remove the rubber seal and boil that in water. This is because rubber doesn’t tend to react well to being dried in hot air. The jar (minus the rubber seal) can be placed in the oven with no problem.
Are Kilner jars good?
Glass had a lot to recommend it: it didn’t stain or absorb odours and it was easy to clean. And if you didn’t drop your Kilner jar of brandy cherries, both the food and the jar could last a very long time.
Can Kilner jars go in dishwasher?

Can Kilner jars go in the oven?

Can you put Kilner jars in the fridge?
Once the seals have formed, store your preserve jars in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months. Once the jars have been opened only store your jars in the fridge and consume the contents within 2 weeks.
Can you use greaseproof paper to seal jam?
Seal the jars with a disc of waxed or greaseproof paper that you have cut earlier. The transparent jam covers that can be bought in kitchenware shops and supermarkets should be applied whilst the jam is still warm so that they shrink over the top of the jar and create an air-tight seal.
Can you Sterilise Kilner jars in the microwave?
Use soapy water to make sure that the jar is clean before sterilising. Take care to rinse off all the washing up liquid. Place in the microwave (while still wet) and turn on ‘high’ (usually around 1,000 watts) for 30-45 seconds. Place them upside-down on a piece of absorbent kitchen paper (like Plenty) to dry off.
