What is Arvak?
(Norse mythology) One of the two horses drawing the chariot bearing the sun.
What happens if Arvak dies?
If he dies in combat, he can be re-summoned, adding to his usefulness. Summoning Arvak and mounting him will replace any currently owned horse, including a purchased one, Frost and Shadowmere. They will, however, reappear after a certain amount of time where they were originally acquired.
Is Arvak undead?
Although Arvak appears to be undead, he is considered by the game to be a normal animal and is therefore not affected by undead-related spells. Arvak is based on the flaming horse developed during the Game Jam.
How do I get Arvak?
Arvak is a horse that you can encounter within the Soul Cairn in the Dawnguard DLC. Unlike other steeds in Skyrim, you can summon Arvak using a spell, which is exclusive to this mount. Arvak is a skeleton, but he can still function in the same way as any other horse.
Is Frost the best horse in Skyrim?
Frost is one of the three unique horses in Skyrim. Although Frost isn’t nearly as powerful as Shadowmere in terms of pure stats, he’s still much more useful than the average horse. Frost offers 562 HP and 148 Stamina, which is more than you’ll get with a stable horse.
Do you have to be a vampire to get Arvak?
Of course you can. Being in the Dawnguard means you also have to look for Serana’s Mother as you normally would, so you’ll be able to find Arvak then. As for Auriel’s Bow, it’s a quest item, so you’ll get it with the Dawnguard as well as you would with it’s counterpart, Castle Volkihar.
Why can’t I summon Arvak?
Arvak cannot be summoned at Forgotten Vale during Touching the Sky even though there is enough space for him. This is probably because it does not count as Tamriel wilderness. With the Twin Souls perk it is possible to summon two Arvaks. Even with 100% spell absorbtion, he is still able to be conjured.
