Do you get food on First Class trains?
To be eligible for a complimentary meal, you must be travelling with a valid First Class ticket for 70 minutes or more. On some occasions those travelling for less may be offered complimentary drinks and light snacks depending on availability. Food is served in First Class until 10pm.
Is there First Class on CrossCountry trains?
Yes, First Class train travel is available on all our services. Customers can enjoy comfy, larger reclining spacious seats and quieter carriages. In addition, We offer complimentary Wifi to enable you to keep up to date on your journey.
Which coach is First Class on CrossCountry?
CrossCountry First Class seating plan You’ll normally find First Class seating in coach A on all trains operated by CrossCountry and in coaches A and B on their high-speed fleet.
Can you sit in first class if train is full?
If overcrowding becomes intense, first class can be “declassified”, i.e. opened up to all passengers, regardless of their tickets. But there is no automatic right to occupy first class. Ad hoc declassification typically happens after other trains have been cancelled or seriously delayed.
Can you get fined for sitting in first class on a train?
You will still get thrown out of first class, and may even be fined, but at least you can bask in the moral superiority that comes with getting a photo taken of you holding your ticket and looking a bit disappointed.
Can I take food on a train?
You may bring your own food and beverages onboard for consumption at your seat or private Sleeping Car accommodations. However, you can only consume food and beverages purchased in Dining and Lounge Cars in those cars.
Do CrossCountry trains have a quiet coach?
We have a Quiet Coach on our High-Speed Trains which operate selected services between the South West, the North East and Scotland. For these services, you can reserve a seat in the Quiet Coach when you buy your ticket at crosscountrytrains.co.uk.
