What is a diaphragm washer?
Our syphon diaphragm washers are for sealing the water housing on your toilet syphon. For use with lever operated syphons, this is an easy way of ensuring your toilet is more water efficient.
How does a diaphragm float valve work?
Like the slide valve above, the diaphragm valve is controlled by an arm attached to a float. As the arm rises with the water level, the screw adjuster on the top of the arm pushes a ‘plunger’ in the end of the valve, this in turn closes the valve nozzle by moving the diaphragm against it.

Fitting your Torbeck variflush valve Taking the variflush drop valve in both hands, twist clockwise and separate. Fit the base of the valve into the cistern. It is essential that the black sealing washer is inside the cistern to achieve a water tight seal.
How do you adjust a Siamp inlet valve?
Adjust water level with the grey adjustable screw ; screw to increase water level, unscrew to decrease it. Adjust the float box to the float level and turn the small white screw to close the box, while pressing on the grey screw.
How do you fit the torbeck bottom entry valve?
Fit the Torbeck filling valve ensuring the rubber washer is on the inside of the tank with the conical side face down. Hand tighten the back nut and with a spanner, tighten a further three-quarter turn. Insert float spiral stem horizontally between the two lower jaws and twist to engage upper jaw.
How do you fix a cistern inlet valve?
Turn off water at cistern tap.
- Flush the cistern until water is removed.
- Place a bucket underneath in case any water remains.
- Remove cistern lid.
- Remove inlet valve and water inlet pipe or connector.
- Replace all worn parts.
- Refit inlet valve and water pipe or connector.
- Replace lid.
- Turn on water and check for leaks.
How does a bottom entry fill valve work?
The fill valve has a float or other device that moves with the water level in the toilet tank, opening to refill the tank with fresh water after a flush and shutting it off when the tank is full.
