Can you cheat in doom?

In Hexen you usually have to fire precious mana or use slow and difficult missiles to mow down persistent and hard to avoid monsters. But Hexen also looks and sounds much better, and it can be much more moddable; shame for the general imbalance it has. Hexen has to be credited for ZDoom though.
