The MRC Dyspnoea Scale is simple to administer as it allows the patients to indicate the extent to which their breathlessness affects their mobility. The 1-5 stage scale is used alongside the questionnaire to establish clinical grades of breathlessness.

Is breathlessness a disability?

- CT scan.
- Arterial blood gas analysis.
- Laboratory tests.

If you have COPD and you believe it will force you to be out of work for 12 months or if it is so severe that it will result in your death, then your COPD would be considered a disability and you could qualify for Social Security disability benefits.
What does stage 2 COPD mean?
Doctors consider stage 2 COPD to be moderate. When a person has stage 2 COPD, their symptoms can include shortness of breath, chronic cough, and frequent respiratory infections. COPD will generally become more severe as the disease progresses.
What breathing problems qualify for disability?
