How do you prepare for zoledronic acid infusion?
Be sure to drink at least 2 glasses of water or another liquid within a few hours before you receive zoledronic acid. Your doctor may prescribe or recommend a calcium supplement and a multivitamin containing vitamin D to take during your treatment. You should take these supplements every day as directed by your doctor.
How long does zoledronic infusion take?
The usual dose is 5 mg, given to you as one initial infusion into a vein by your doctor or nurse. The infusion will take at least 15 minutes. Zoledronic acid 5 mg may work for longer than one year, and your doctor will let you know if you need to be treated again.

Intravenous use. Zoledronic Acid 4 mg/100 ml solution for infusion should be given as a single intravenous infusion in no less than 15 minutes. In patients with normal renal function, defined as CLcr > 60 ml/min, zoledronic acid 4 mg/100 ml solution for infusion must not be further diluted.

Can you drive after zoledronic acid infusion?
Ask your doctor for advice before taking any medicine while you are pregnant or breast- feeding. There have been very rare cases of drowsiness and sleepiness with the use of Zoledronic Acid. You should therefore be careful when driving, using machinery or performing other tasks that need full attention.
Does zoledronic acid make you tired?
This treatment may cause changes in the blood. For example, it can cause low levels of red blood cells (anaemia). Symptoms of anaemia include feeling very tired and breathless.
What is the most common side effect of zoledronic acid?
Fever is the most common adverse effect associated with zoledronic acid infusion. Flu-like syndromes including fever, chills, bone pain, and/or arthralgias and myalgias have also occasionally been reported. These symptoms generally did not require treatment and resolved within 24 to 48 hours.
