Sansui make amazing equipment. Heavy, functional, elegant, and cool – with great features, warmth and clarity. Everything is model and condition dependent but the cool thing is that lower or lessor models were not lesser quality but had fewer features. It’s very hard to go wrong with one.

What is the difference between the AU-717 and auau-719?
AU-719 was cheaper constructed than the AU-717 but still an excellent sounding amplifier: Cheaper shielded transformers, no pre-out/main in, no anodizing on the heat sinks, thin galvanized non painted chassis, etc., etc.
When did the Sansui AU-719 come out?
The AU-719 came out a year after the AU-717 along with its bigger brother, the AU-919. Its a January 1978 model. 3rd digit gives year, thus 8 for 197->8 and 4th & 5th digits give month, thus 01 for January. JohnG PROG Nation! I still have a Sansui turntable. The were always considered a great brand back in the 70’s.
