Can you watch movies on Ford screen?
At the current moment, you are not able to watch movies on the Ford SYNC 4 screen. Doing so would pose as a distraction and safety hindrance to the driver.
Is Sync free for Fords?
The advantage of Ford Sync Connect is that it comes at no additional cost because it goes through your phone. Like with some of the other telematics systems, you will need to subscribe to the service, and the cost can be as much as $200 per year.

While the screen itself can be very interactive and helpful in your drive, Ford has made it a top priority to keep your safety in the highest regard.
How do I update my 2012 Ford SYNC?
To update your SYNC system using a USB, also known as a flash or thumb drive:
- Visit Ford.com/support.
- Enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and select Search.
- Scroll down until you see the SYNC® UPDATES tile.
- If one is available, select View Updates.
- Click on the Flash Drive tile.
How do I know if my Ford SYNC needs to be updated?
- Log in to your SYNC Owner account.
- Visit the SYNC Software Updates page.
- If you see a notification that says, “You have recently downloaded an update,” choose Confirm Update. You’ll be instructed on how to report your last successful installation so that we can keep you informed when new updates are available to you.
Can I upgrade my Ford Sync to navigation?
You can update the maps in your SYNC 3 navigation system by downloading the latest software online or purchasing a preloaded flash drive from the SYNC 3 navigation website. Note: The engine must be running until the installation is complete. The estimated time for the update is about 60 minutes.
