What size are quilt panels?
Most quilt panels range in size from 23″ – 26″ wide x 42″ – 44″ long (width of the fabric). But I’ve seen panels up to 35” wide! Many quilt patterns will usually use the quilt panel as it is, just trimming it down somewhat in order to add the borders.

What are fabric panels?
A Fabric Panel is an easy and fun way to make a quilt, wall hanging or use in other craft projects. The panel is a design printed on fabric to be used as a whole piece, such as a picture of a tree, a bouquet of flowers or a licensed character. They are also made to be cut apart to make a doll or quilt blocks.
How wide should a border be on a quilt?
Borders should be in proportion to the size of the finished quilt. As a general rule of thumb, a small wall hanging should have a border of less than 6″ while a king-size quilt can handle a 12″ to 14″ border. Borders that are too wide diminish the quilt center design.
Should I sew curtain panels together?
If your curtain panels are patterned the pattern placement may dictate which vertical edges you will need to sew together in order to pattern match. Once you have decided which sides you wish to sew together you can start to unstitch the vertical seams on each of the individual curtain panels.
Why do we use fussy cutting?
Fussy cutting is when you deliberately cut a piece of fabric in order to showcase a picture or print within it. It is usually done using larger scale and novelty prints. The size or reason for using fussy cuts may vary depending on the project you are working on.
