What can I use to remove ear wax?

Just use a washcloth. You also can try putting a few drops of baby oil, hydrogen peroxide, mineral oil, or glycerin in your ear to soften the wax. Or you can use an over-the-counter wax removal kit. Besides cotton swabs or any other small or pointy objects, don’t use ear candles to clean your ears.

How does ear wax suction work?

Microsuction earwax removal is performed using a microscope to see what we are doing, and a medical suction device to suck out the wax. A very thin steel fitting is fitted to the end of the suction tube which allows us to gently suck out the earwax from your canal.

What products are available to reduce injection pain?

Available products: lidocaine (Maxilene™), tetracaine (Ametop™), lidocaine-prilocaine (EMLA™). Apply to injection site between 30 and 60 minutes before vaccination, according to manufacturer instructions. Two doses may be needed (one for each arm or leg) if 2 or more vaccinations are being given.
