What can I use to remove ear wax?
Just use a washcloth. You also can try putting a few drops of baby oil, hydrogen peroxide, mineral oil, or glycerin in your ear to soften the wax. Or you can use an over-the-counter wax removal kit. Besides cotton swabs or any other small or pointy objects, don’t use ear candles to clean your ears.
How does ear wax suction work?
Microsuction earwax removal is performed using a microscope to see what we are doing, and a medical suction device to suck out the wax. A very thin steel fitting is fitted to the end of the suction tube which allows us to gently suck out the earwax from your canal.

What products are available to reduce injection pain?
Available products: lidocaine (Maxilene™), tetracaine (Ametop™), lidocaine-prilocaine (EMLA™). Apply to injection site between 30 and 60 minutes before vaccination, according to manufacturer instructions. Two doses may be needed (one for each arm or leg) if 2 or more vaccinations are being given.
How do you unclog ear wax?
Use warm water. After a day or two, when the wax is softened, use a rubber-bulb syringe to gently squirt warm water into your ear canal. Tilt your head and pull your outer ear up and back to straighten your ear canal. When finished irrigating, tip your head to the side to let the water drain out.
Can olive oil make ear wax worse?
Over time, olive oil actually increased the amount of ear wax. However, applying olive oil to the ear just before having a doctor remove extra ear wax did seem to help ensure that all the wax was removed. When it comes to removing ear wax, it’s best to stick with ear drops specifically designed for removing ear wax.
