Please Note: We try to have our outdoor waterparks open for spring break but it is all weather dependent, in addition, we aim to have them open on weekends in April and May. Then the outdoor waterparks are open full-time beginning Memorial Day weekend.

Who owns Wilderness in the Smokies?
The resort is owned by Patrick Helland, Pete Helland, Jr., Tim Lucke and Tom Lucke (who also own Wilderness at the Dells Waterpark resort in Wisconsin). Steve Cruz is the General Manager of Wilderness at the Smokies and Rick Laney is spokesperson for the resort.

Reservations are required at Campgrounds, Group Campgrounds, Horse Campgrounds, Pavilions and the Appalachian Clubhouse and Spence Cabin. Facilities that remain open in the off-peak season November-April have some first come, first serve sites available.
