This is the first time I’ve reread If I Stay . . . and I’m happy to report that after five years, it’s still a fantastic book. It’s amazing to me how, in just a few short pages, Forman is able to make you care about the Hall family.

The strongest aspect of If I Stay were the secondary characters, especially Mia’s boyfriend, Adam, and her best friend, Kim. Both were likable and felt very real. I could identify with their pain and fears of potentially losing a loved one, and I loved their personality quirks.
