The Secret Garden Party, often colloquially shortened to the SGP, is an independent arts and music festival which takes place in Abbots Ripton near Huntingdon in England. This location is on part of the grounds of a Georgian farm house and has its own lakes, river and landscaped gardens.
Is SGP coming back?
SGP has been reclaimed by the people and will bloom again 21st to 24th July 2022 in a new way. It will have all the magic, splendour, frivolity and detail of the best days of The Garden, with brand new ideas, new collaborators, and things that just didn’t exist five years ago.
Why did Secret Garden Party stop?
The festival has also played a part in helping to launch careers with many concepts and experiential collectives starting out on their journies there. So why choose this year to end? “We felt that the time was right,” Freddie explains.
How do you get a job at Secret Garden Party?
You must be able to provide at least two references from previous employers….Skills and Experience:
- You must have previous customer service, stewarding or similar experience.
- Enthusiastic, polite and super confident.
- A loud voice will be handy.
- A good level of spoken English.
- A love of working in the great outdoors!
Can children go to Secret Garden Party?
No. Children aren’t allowed on-site this year. This means no under 18’s at all I’m afraid. If you are lucky enough to look under 18… then enjoy it while you can as it really doesn’t last very long.
Who runs Secret Garden Party?

The Secret Garden Party began in a not-so-secret location in Abbots Ripton in Cambridgeshire in 2003 and has grown from a few hundred festival-goers to tens of thousands. The last one was held in 2017 but it will now return from 21 to 24 July 2022. Its founder, Freddie Fellowes, promised “a serious party”.
