What is the best wavedash angle?
The position of your control stick when you airdodge determines the angle that you will air dodge into the ground at. If the stick all the way down counts as 0 degrees, and all the way left/right counts as 90, then having your stick at 73.5 degrees would result in the longest possible wavedash.
Can you wavedash in Brawl?
In order to wavedash, all a player needs to do is press the ‘block’ button while jumping and direct their character towards wherever they want to dash. If All-Star Brawl players want to wavedash to the right to attack their enemy, they’d simply jump and hit the ‘block’ and ‘right’ buttons simultaneously.

In Smash Ultimate, wavedashing may see most of its use in the neutral as a defensive option. Wavedashing can act as an alternative to rolling, as players can react to an incoming attack, wavedash forwards or backwards to avoid it, and potentially be in a good position to whiff punish their opponent.
How do you cancel Z?
Better known as Z-canceling as the Z button is the shield button, L-canceling in Smash 64 is performed by pressing the Z button 11 or fewer frames before landing. Doing so causes the character’s regular landing animation to play instead of the air attack’s landing animation, reducing their lag to 4 frames.
Can you l-cancel with R?
L-canceling in Melee is performed by pressing L, R, or Z up to 7 frames before landing. Doing so causes the aerial attack’s landing animation to play at double speed, cutting the lag time in half (rounded down).
Which button is L-cancel?
You can L-cancel by just barely pressing any shield button, and Z does that automatically.
