I found Vanish carpet cleaner reasonably effective although the dirty marks removed on a pale carpet now seem to get dirty again soon after, as if they’re attracting soil. Guess that helps sell more product!? BUT – WARNING – WARNING! I used some on a carpet mat that sits on top of a recently laid and treated timber floor.
