A Dynamic Line Management System is all the hardware devices and other components required to monitor customers lines for signs of broadband instability, and then apply software configuration changes in order to keep the line stable.

What is DLM? DLM, (Dynamic Line Management) is the Openreach system used to monitor and control the speed / stability of FTTC circuits. All FTTC services provided by Ghost will prioritise speed over stability within thresholds defined by the DLM system for the current enforced profile.

How does Openreach DLM work?

The DLM system collects data throughout the day and analyses it overnight. If a change is required this would cause a brief disconnection – which takes place between 3am and 6am in order to minimise the impact on users.
