The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) provides U of M undergraduates from every college, major, and discipline, the opportunity to partner with a faculty member on research or creative projects. The deadline to be considered for Fall 2022 project funding is June 27, 2022.
What does undergraduate research do?
Undergraduate research is a learning activity that enriches a student’s undergraduate experience. Students report that participation in research, scholarship, or creative activity broadens and deepens their classroom learning and supports the development of a range of skills.

Who can apply for UROP MIT?
The following individuals are welcome to participate in UROP at MIT: All registered MIT undergraduates in good academic standing, including transfer students. Cross-registered Wellesley College undergraduates participating through the MIT-Wellesley Exchange Program.
