How do I join the Australian cadets?
To become an Australian Army Cadet you must:
- be between 12.5 and 17 years of age inclusive,
- be a permanent resident of Australia,
- complete an application form, signed by your parents or guardian,
- be cleared by your doctor, and.
- not be a member of the ADF, Australian Navy Cadets or the Australian Air Force Cadets.
How long is cadet Training Australia?
The course is divided into three six-month stages and on graduation you will be assigned to your corps for specific training. Acquire foundational military skills and learn to command and lead at the section level. Initial cadet training at Majura, Canberra, is the first part of what’s called ‘third class’.
