Do NOAA weather radios work in Canada?
The radio frequencies used by Weatheradio Canada are the same as those used by its American counterpart, NOAA Weather Radio, and receivers designed for use in one country are compatible for use in the other.
How can I listen to local weather?
Go to our Weather Radio map at: https://www.weather.gov/phi/nwrphicoverage and click on a transmitter button (in red) to get the listening area and broadcast schedule. The broadcast schedule can also be heard during the full station ID, which normally plays at the top of every hour on all of our transmitters.

What should I look for when buying a weather radio?
Look for models that have an audible alarm function. These radios emit a loud tone when alerts come in (even when the unit is turned off), so you’ll never miss a warning. Weather Band Radios need to be tuned to a specific weather station in order for you to get forecasts and alerts.
